The word out of Port Renfrew Marina from last weekend is that the fishing is heating up.
Lots of halibut, mostly in the “turkey” range — up to 30 lbs. But Heavy Hauler pulled in a 96 pounder…way to go Mike, that’s another happy customer! (sorry, no GPS coordinates available…somewhere west of Owen Point is all we know)
Salmon are starting to arrive too, which is welcomed, to add some variety to the day’s fishing adventure.
The crabbing is described as awesome….lots and lots of them in Port Renfrew Harbour. So make sure you bring your trap and some bait, as you should have a Dungeness crab bounty on the return trip.
